Good to Know

Common Questions

What is the best time to visit?

June to October is the dry season, offering the best wildlife viewing across the country. However, if you want to witness the Calving Season (8,000+ wildebeest born daily), the best time is January to March in the Southern Serengeti (Ndutu).

Is Tanzania safe for tourists?

Yes, Tanzania is one of the safest and most politically stable countries in East Africa. When on safari, you are always accompanied by expert guides. At lodges, Maasai 'askaris' (guards) ensure your safety from wildlife.

Do I need a Visa?

Most international visitors require a visa. It costs $50 ($100 for US citizens) and can be obtained on arrival, but we highly recommend applying for the E-Visa online at least 3 weeks before travel to avoid queues.

What should I pack?

Pack light! Soft-sided bags are best for small aircraft. Bring neutral colors (khaki, beige, green), a wide-brimmed hat, sturdy shoes, and warm layers for early mornings. Don't forget your camera and binoculars.
