Arusha National Park

Arusha National Park surprises you gently. Just beyond the bustle of Arusha town, the landscape shifts into a peaceful mosaic of emerald forests, crater lakes, and open grasslands, all watched over by the towering presence of Mount Meru. The air is cool and fresh, scented with wet leaves and mountain mist.

Flamingos ripple across the Momella Lakes, their reflections shimmering in calm waters. Giraffes glide through open plains, zebras graze quietly, and colobus monkeys leap between forest canopies with striking black-and-white elegance. The sounds here are softer birdsong, rustling leaves, and distant waterfalls hidden in the trees.

Arusha National Park feels intimate and relaxed. It’s one of the few places in Tanzania offering walking safaris and canoeing, allowing travelers to experience nature up close and at a slower pace. While it lacks large predators, the park compensates with scenery, serenity, and diversity making it a perfect introduction to Tanzania’s wilderness.
